About Datavisly
Datavisly is a free toolkit of browser-based data visualization tools for researchers, engineers, and anyone who works with data. The goal is simple: serious, precise tools that open instantly, cost nothing, and keep your data private.
Why it exists
A lot of everyday scientific and engineering work — turning a CSV into a clean chart, building a publication-quality graph, converting and inspecting a bathymetry grid — still means buying or installing desktop software, or uploading sensitive files to a server you do not control. Datavisly exists to remove both of those costs. Each tool runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to install and nothing to pay for.
Privacy is the default, not a feature
Every file you open is read and processed locally, on your own device, using JavaScript in your browser. Your data is never uploaded to a server, never stored remotely, and never seen by anyone else — even large, multi-gigabyte grids are parsed on your machine. This is a core design promise, not a setting you have to find. You can read the details on the privacy page.
Who builds it
Datavisly is built and maintained by an independent developer. It is not a venture-backed company and it is not trying to capture your data — it is a focused set of tools made by someone who needed them and wanted them to stay free and private for everyone else too.
The toolkit grows one tool at a time, and each one is meant to do its job well rather than to do everything. If a tool is listed as “coming soon,” it genuinely is in progress.
What’s inside
- Graphium — a scientific graphing and vector chart studio. Plot line, scatter, bar, histogram, pie, and function graphs, edit every object, and export publication-quality SVG and PNG.
- Terrain Grid — a bathymetry and terrain grid studio. Convert GEBCO Esri ASCII (.asc) to Surfer 6 (.grd), resample, view contours, and digitize gauge points — handling multi-gigabyte grids in your browser.
- CSV Viewer — open any CSV file and view it as a clean, sortable table.
Open a tool and start
No account, no install, no upload. Pick a tool and your data stays on your device.
